TGD - Marseille - European EUS Scholarship / FRANCE-2
NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS!
Dear Members,
As Türk Gastroenteroloji Derneği, in our Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) training scholarship program conducted with Hospitals Academics de Marseille in France, 8 of our members were awarded scholarships in 2026. Among these members, 6 have successfully completed their training, and 2 are continuing their training. Upon the completion of the current scholarship period at the end of November 2026, all scholarship recipients will have completed their training. Our members who have completed their training have begun to transfer the knowledge and experience they gained into their clinical practices.
To this end, we continue to maintain our overseas training scholarship program to enable our members to closely follow international scientific developments to enhance their knowledge and experience, and to learn about current developments in gastroenterology on-site and increase experience sharing.
As a continuation of this successful process, new applications for the 2027 EUS training scholarship period have begun.
The deadline for applications for the new period is September 30, 2026, and applications must be sent along with the required documents to [email protected].
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS
- The program is planned for diagnostic and interventional Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) training.
- Accommodation and travel expenses within the scope of the scholarship will be covered by TGD, while other personal expenses will be borne by the scholarship recipient.
- Gastroenterology Specialists who are members of TGD may apply for the program.
- The training period is planned for 4 weeks for each scholarship recipient. The duration will not be shorter or longer than 4 weeks.
- Applicants must specify the date ranges they wish to attend during the application. It is recommended to indicate as wide a date range as possible for appropriate planning.
- Participation in the program will not create any mandatory service or commitment for the scholarship recipient towards TGD or the training center in France.
Required conditions for application:
- The candidate must have sufficient English speaking and writing skills,
- Must be able to document having performed at least 200 EUS procedures,
- Must be able to document that their institution has an EUS device,
- Must be able to obtain a letter from their institution stating that there is no impediment to their participation in the program,
- Must submit an application petition explaining their expectations from the training and the contributions their gains will provide to themselves and their institution.
The scholarship recipient will submit a detailed evaluation report to TGD, including the knowledge and experience gained at the end of the training.
A mutual agreement will be signed with the scholarship recipients accepted into the program before the training.
Should the scholarship recipient withdraw from the program, their justification will be evaluated by the Board of Directors. No obligations will arise for accepted justifications, but in cases of unaccepted justifications, the incurred expenses will be covered by the scholarship recipient.
Any damage and extraordinary expenses that may occur in the guesthouse will be borne by the scholarship recipient.
Applications will be evaluated by the Board of Directors, and suitable candidates will be contacted.

Dear Member of Our Gastroenterology Family,
As the Türk Gastroenteroloji Derneği, one of our main goals is to support the effectiveness of our members on international platforms and the continuity of contemporary scientific standards by contributing to the enhancement of their knowledge and skills through educational programs and activities.
For this purpose, we continue our overseas training scholarships, which are organized to follow and learn about developments in gastroenterology education and to encourage the advancement of these innovations in Turkey. A scholarship has been established in collaboration with “Hospitals Academics De Marseille” in France to provide “EUS training,” allowing our members to visit this center for two months.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS
The program is structured around both diagnostic and interventional Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) training.
Accommodation and travel expenses within the scope of the scholarship will be covered by TGD, while other expenses will be borne by the scholarship recipient.Gastroenterology Specialists who are members of TGD may apply for the program.
The program is planned for 8 weeks for each scholarship recipient. The duration cannot be shorter than 8 weeks and cannot be extended beyond 8 weeks.
When applications open, candidates should specify their preferred dates. It is recommended to indicate as broad a range of desired dates as possible in the applications.
Participation in this program will not impose any obligation or commitment on the scholarship recipient towards TGD or any other institution in France.
The scholarship candidate must be proficient in speaking and writing English.
The scholarship candidate must document having performed a minimum of 200 EUS procedures.
The scholarship candidate must document that their current institution possesses an EUS device.
The scholarship candidate must obtain a document from their current institution stating that there is no impediment to their participation in the program.
The scholarship candidate will submit an application letter explaining their expectations and the potential benefits of the program to themselves and their institution.
The scholarship recipient will submit a detailed written report at the end of the training, including their achievements and comments.
A mutual agreement will be signed after the scholarship candidate is accepted into the program.
If the scholarship recipient decides to withdraw, they will present their justification to the Board of Directors. If the justification is accepted, no obligation will arise, and the scholarship recipient will be able to reapply for the program. For unaccepted justifications, expenses incurred up to that point will be covered by the scholarship recipient.
Any damage to the guesthouse and extraordinary expenses will be covered by the scholarship recipient.

TGD - A.ERTAN - Houston UT MC Govern Medical School, Training Scholarship

The Houston training fellowship focuses on ‘Advanced Endoscopy, IBD, and the management of complex gastroenterological cases’. The training duration is 12 weeks. This training support, organized for individuals working with Dr. Ertan at Houston UT Mc Govern Medical School, is provided for a period of 12 weeks and is limited to applicants under 40 years of age, as requested by Houston.
TGD - GÜRAKAR John Hopkins Education Fellowship

The program will run for a minimum of 8 weeks and a maximum of 12 weeks for each fellow. The duration cannot be shorter than 8 weeks or extended beyond 12 weeks. Fellows must state their requested duration of stay during the application process.
TGD - Korea Seoul CHA Medical Center Scholarship / KORE-2
PROJECT HAS ENDED!
Due to an overwhelming number of applications for the first center opened for training in Korea, a second center in Seoul has also been arranged. This center is larger than the first and handles a greater number of cases. However, hands-on opportunities may be more limited.
TGD - Korea Seoul CHA Medical Center Scholarship / KORE-1
PROJECT HAS ENDED!
The ‘Advanced Endoscopy Techniques’ training fellowship, first launched in Korea at ‘CHA Medical Center, Seoul, Korea’ and announced as KORE-1, is supported by Nobel Pharmaceuticals. This program is a fellowship where six of our members will go to CHA Medical Center in Seoul, Korea, for two months each, to study advanced endoscopy.
TGD - AMSTERDAM Training Fellowship
PROJECT HAS ENDED!
At Amsterdam Medical Center, work will be conducted with Paul Fockens and Arjan Bradenoord. The study topics are primarily esophageal motility, with advanced endoscopy as an additional focus. The age limit has been removed.
